Sustainability

Sustainability

Since our inception, sustainability has been at the core of what we do.

We are a registered British Social Enterprise and our Manchester knitwear factory is a Sedex audited cooperative which pays the National Living Wage. We make our products in Manchester and own every stage of production to ensure we have complete control of all environmental & social responsibility commitments.

Zero Waste Production

Our expert technicians have perfected our zero waste production methods using many decades of experience in garment production.

Natural, Recycled and Recyclable Yarns

Each year, waste from garment production pollutes the air, earth and water. As a result, at NJ Garments we only use materials that are either recycled (incorporates the waste produced during the production processes into remanufacturing), completely natural (and free from pesticides) or are completely biodegradable.

Carbon Friendly Fulfilment

Every stage of the process, including packaging and fulfilment, is done in the same building, reducing all but the necessary carbon emissions through transport, which is offset using carbon neutral delivery services.

Our Commitment to Transparency

Being ethical & sustainable requires constant review, reflection and reinvestment. We will continue to make changes to ensure we’re building a better future. If you have any questions please feel free to reach out  - we encourage our clients to visit our factory in Manchester and welcome any and all feedback on how we can improve our practices.
